Do You Have a Bucket List? Why Not Start Now?

I think having a bucket list helps give me something to look forward to in life. I believe there’s so many things to do. When you have your bucket list written down, you’re more likely to do what’s on the list.

I started writing my life goals when I was a freshman in college when one of my English professors said that people who wrote down their goals were more likely to do them. When I first started writing my goals, I consistently wrote down what my yearly goals were. I guess I got kind of tired writing similar goals over several years. For the longest time, I was wondering what God’s will in my life was and what my purpose was. I had different jobs and have read several books dealing with figuring out my job or purpose.

Recently, I have realized that my purpose can change over time and my purpose does not need to be just one career. I am realizing that being fully present in the present moment is worthy in itself and that can be our purpose. Our time here on earth is made of lots of “present moments.” Our purpose can be making the most of the time we have here on earth.

With that said, do you have a bucket list? I had one when I was single. Most likely, getting married was on the list. I don’t know where my bucket list for my single days is at the moment.

Anyway, my husband and I were inspired to write a bucket list after one of our Marriage Encounter weekends.

Most of the things on our bucket list are places to visit and things to do.

At the bottom of our bucket list, I typed the following questions:

What do you want in your life?

What do you want in terms of your health?

What do you want in terms of wealth?

What do you want in terms of love?

I also had a question dealing with what changes are needed to make what we want come true? It was fun creating a bucket list.

I think creating a bucket list can give you something to be inspired about. So, why not start a bucket list? You can list

Places to visit

Things to do and

Books to Read

During these COVID times, you may not visit places, but I think you might do something like

Write a book,

Learn a language,

Learn an instrument.

Create some positive memories during these times. Create happy memories while you are single. Creating happy memories while you are single is something you’ll cherish later. It’s great to reminisce on happy memories.

So, what do you want in your life? What do you want for your health, wealth, and love?

Do you have a bucket list? If not. Why not start now?
